According to the European Union times in Italy, the number of Chinese immigrants in Italy has declined. According to the survey report of the Chinese community submitted by the international immigration agency and the Ministry of internal affairs of the Italy in December 17th, the number of Chinese immigrants from 2003 to 2006 increased by 66%. From the beginning of last year, the number of Chinese immigrants showed a downward trend, which decreased by 8% between 2006 and 2007. However, the amount of Chinese immigrants remitting money through remittance companies increased by 141%.

The survey was conducted from April to November this year. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 2500 Chinese immigrants living in various parts of Italy, and two languages were used to use Chinese to the first generation of Chinese immigrants, while Italian was used for the second generation of Chinese immigrants. However, there were less than 50 questionnaires collected. The results of the survey were compared with statistics provided by statistics, taxation, banking, trade unions and other departments, and the Chinese community had a more comprehensive understanding and understanding of the status quo of the Chinese community.

Ulisse Di Corpo, who is responsible for the investigation, explains that through our survey, there are many different reasons for Chinese immigrants to return to China. This is mainly due to the increased discrimination in the Chinese community, the economic crisis in Italy and the increasing competitiveness of Chinese domestic enterprises.

According to the survey, the education level of Chinese immigrants is not very high. Only 32% of the respondents studied in Italy schools, 32% took part in Italian learning classes, and about 30% declared themselves proficient in Italian.

The average age of Chinese immigrants in Italy is very low, around 32 years old, because most Chinese immigrants choose to return home when they are more than 50 years old. This report can also provide an answer to those who doubt the low mortality rate of Italy Chinese.

The proportion of Chinese men and women in Italy is equal to the European average. Men account for 51,4% and women account for 48,3%. 39% Chinese women arrive in Italy through family reunion. At the same time, 65% male Chinese migrate to Italy for work. In general, men come to Italy first. After settling down, they apply to their families.

Chinese immigrants mainly come from Zhejiang, accounting for 69%, 15% from Fujian, and only 7% from northern China. Due to the relatively short time for Chinese in Italy in the northern area, they become the most vulnerable group of Chinese in Italy. They usually come to Italy alone, leaving their wives and children in the country.

Italy Chinese enterprises are booming, accounting for 13% of the total number of migrant enterprises. Chinese enterprises are mainly engaged in business (46%), textile (42%) and catering (5%).
