"CISMA" - the rising star of the global professional exhibition of sewing machinery industry, has grown from small to large, from large to strong, and has become a brand exhibition known to everyone in the industry and even in the clothing industry. 1987 → 2007
At the end of the 1980s, China's sewing machinery market gradually formed. In line with the development of the market, the "1988 National Sewing Equipment Exhibition Sample Ordering Fair" hosted by the China Sewing Machine Association (later renamed the China Sewing Machinery Association) was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province from September 26 to 28, 1987.
In the 1990s, the focus of world sewing machinery production shifted to Asia, which injected a boost into China's sewing machinery industry and provided a rare opportunity for local sewing enterprises for many years. China has gradually become the world's sewing machinery production and sales center. From August 6 to 8, 1996, the first CISMA was held in Shanghai International Exhibition Center. The "Sewing Equipment Order Fair" was officially renamed as "China International Sewing Equipment Exhibition (CISMA)". This exhibition has become a new milestone in China's sewing equipment exhibition industry, and CISMA has also leapt to become one of the four major international sewing equipment professional exhibitions as famous as BOBBIN Exhibition in the United States, IMB Exhibition in Germany and JIAM Exhibition in Japan. 　
In the 21st century, with the development of China's economy and the improvement of the level of internationalization, the sewing machinery industry has achieved greater development. In order to meet the needs of the sewing industry exhibition, CISMA has rapidly expanded its scale and played an invaluable role in cultivating the professional market of the industry, promoting international exchanges, improving technological progress, and expanding overseas markets. CISMA2007, with its huge scale, long history and good innovative services, has become the largest exhibition in the world sewing machinery industry.
2000 → 100000 m2 large-scale development
At the "1998 National Sewing Equipment Exhibition and Order Fair", the exhibition area was only 2000 m2. In recent years, with the adjustment and transfer of the world industrial structure and the sustained and rapid growth of China's economy, the sewing machinery industry has achieved leapfrog development. In 2003, China's sewing machinery industry achieved a trade surplus for the first time. The rapid development of the industry has provided a broader market for professional exhibitions. Professional exhibitions have set up a fully displayed stage for the further development of the industry. The scale of CISMA has expanded rapidly with the development of the industry. The total exhibition area of CISMA2003 is 58000 m2, up 26% year on year; The total exhibition area of CISMA2004 is 75000 m2, up 29% year on year; The total exhibition area of CISMA2005 is 80500 m2, an increase of 7.3% year on year, and the exhibition scale has jumped to the first in the world; The total exhibition area of CISMA2007 reached 103500 m2, an increase of 28.6% year on year, the highest in history, and further consolidated its position as the world's largest exhibition.  
CISMA 2007 opened all 9 pavilions of Shanghai New International Expo Center, and set up two registration halls in the north and south. Taking the category of exhibits as the main basis for booth division, the exhibits in Hall W1~W5 are mainly sewing machines, Hall E1 is composed of CAD/CAM, ironing equipment, hanging system and laser equipment, Hall E2 is mainly embroidery machines, Hall E3 is mainly dedicated to special machinery and clothing accessories, and Hall E4 is mainly dedicated to spare parts.
70 → 1300 International development
As an international famous brand, CISMA has attracted a large number of domestic and foreign exhibitors. From 70 exhibitors in 1998 to 1085 exhibitors in CISMA 2005, the number of mainland exhibitors was 853, while the number of overseas exhibitors reached 232, accounting for 27.2% of the total number of exhibitors, and the exhibition area of overseas brands exceeded 30%. In the upcoming CISMA 2007, there are nearly 1300 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions. Among them, enterprises from Mexico, Jordan, Greece, Poland and other countries are all participating in the exhibition for the first time. International famous brands include heavy machinery, Baifu, Dahe, Pegasus, Nixing, Geber, Lik, Est, Daojingji, Gaoniao, PGM, Vijay, Maipi Reliant、 Many brand representatives in various fields, such as organ, Sasaki, Hirose, Tajima, and Berinda, further improved the internationalization of the exhibition.
At the same time, a large number of professional overseas visitors also came to visit and purchase from afar. Among 22830 professional visitors received by CISMA 2005, 1944 came from overseas. For CISMA 2007, visitors from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and more than 30 countries and regions in Europe, the United States, Asia, and Africa have pre registered. Among them, 55% were invited by the organizer, 20% by the media, 19% by the exhibitors, and 6% by other means. This is a new breakthrough compared with CISMA 2005.
0 → 9000 m2 regional development
Different from previous CISMA, in order to further highlight the theme of "building an international platform with a new image and promoting industrial upgrading with new technology", this exhibition has strengthened its efforts in overseas clusters and domestic clusters. Germany, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan will all appear in the form of an overall group. Domestic groups have also set new records over the years. Jiangsu sewing machine production area, Zhuji embroidery machine production area, Hebei Changli spare parts production area, Wanping sewing machine production area, Dongyang sewing machine production area and other groups will build exhibition stands to display new brands and images. Among the total exhibition area, 305 enterprises in 11 groups have declared an area of more than 9000m2.
 
At present, many industrial clusters have been formed in the mainland and overseas. The products and enterprises in these industrial clusters have their own characteristics in distribution. The group exhibition can minimize the exhibition cost and maximize the exhibition effect by virtue of scale advantages, cost advantages and brand advantages, which is conducive to reflecting the production characteristics of the origin, creating regional brands, and then visiting professional visitors.  
1 → N (single sewing machine to multiple varieties) high-tech development
Since 1988, the world sewing machinery industry has made rapid development, and the technological content, process and quality of products have been improved year by year. According to the survey of China Sewing Machinery Association, it is predicted that a large number of products and technologies with high scientific and technological content and high added value, such as oil-free lubrication, computer full automation, electromechanical integration, automatic processing units, will show their talents in CISMA2007. In addition, the automatic processing unit will become the highlight of the exhibition, and various special automation devices and accessories will also be shown at the exhibition. The products of small and medium-sized ironing equipment for industrial and non industrial use are expected to meet with professional visitors. At the same time, some European and American enterprises have specially developed relevant automation devices and accessories, and the pressing equipment lines of denim and leisure series produced in Germany, Japan, the United States and other countries and regions will also appear on the stage. Famous companies at home and abroad, such as Feiyue, Standard, Heavy Machinery, Brother, Tongyu, will show their high-tech new products on CISMA2007.
1 → 2 (exhibition in exhibition) diversified development
The biggest difference between CISMA2007 and the previous exhibitions is that, despite the tight booth, the organizers still decided to open two themed leisure areas on the west side of Hall W3 and the north side of Hall E3 of this CISMA, combining the embroidery exhibition with leisure, so that visitors to the nine museums can enjoy the world's most exquisite embroidery products while resting. This is the first time since CISMA held the 11th "exhibition in exhibition". The embroidery exhibition will display the outstanding embroidery products of domestic and foreign embroidery machine enterprises, aiming to help enterprises display products, promote brands, enrich the exhibition structure of CISMA, enhance the interaction between CISMA and enterprises, and improve the enthusiasm of enterprises to participate in CISMA. At the same time, it also intensively displays the latest technology and products of embroidery machine manufacturing enterprises around the world for mutual exchange and learning between enterprises.

It is also an important measure for CISMA 2007 to demonstrate its agglomeration and amplification functions as an international platform by holding theme exhibitions in the exhibition. The setting of the leisure area reflects the humanization of exhibition services. The embroidery exhibition and the leisure area are integrated into one, which adds a lot of interest and artistic atmosphere to the leisure area and lights up the whole exhibition.  
1-3 (order meeting, technical seminar, learning meeting) diversified development
In 1988, the first "order meeting" was held in the form of order meeting, focusing on product promotion. At the beginning of CISMA exhibition, the forum was held gradually. At the beginning, the sponsor mainly provided a platform for enterprises to play the leading role in new product recommendation or technical lectures. In the next few years, the Association not only attracted enterprises to hold various kinds of lectures, but also invested in activities. For example, carry out product comparison activities of the industry QC group, scientific and technological innovation award evaluation activities, and employ clothing machinery research experts to give lectures on the development trend of clothing machinery and how to better meet the needs of the clothing industry.
The CISMA2007 Institutional Forum will be held on the afternoon of September 27, when research institutions such as the University of Hong Kong and industry experts will be invited to discuss the new development direction of sewing machine institutions and other related topics. The "Garment Industry Upgrading and Equipment System Solution" will be held on the afternoon of September 26, with the theme of "new ideas and new ways of equipment upgrading", to discuss the cutting-edge technology and market problems faced by China's sewing machinery field, and to explore the practical ways to solve the problems from a multi-dimensional perspective. Starting from the supply chain, channel integration, brand remodeling, product and technology innovation and other focus issues, the scientific and technological contribution rate of the systematic solution of sewing machinery to the upgrading of the clothing industry was deeply discussed. In addition, 7 enterprises, including Heavy Machinery and Baumax, will also hold relevant technical forums. CISMA has a single "order meeting" and gradually diversified into "order meeting, technical seminar and learning meeting".
This set of data records the growth of CISMA. From 1987 to 2007, from the "order meeting" of 2000 m2 to the world's largest exhibition of 100000 m2, CISMA has achieved today's glory in the past 20 years.
