China'S Auto Sales

Statistics released by China Automobile Industry Association 10 showed that in 2010, China's automobile production and sales exceeded 18 million vehicles, not only winning the world's first place, but also creating a new global record.

According to the statistics of China Automobile Association, in 2010, China's automobile production and sales were 18 million 264 thousand and 700 and 18 million 61 thousand and 900, respectively, up 32.44% and 32.37% respectively over the same period.

The production and sales of passenger cars were 13 million 897 thousand and 100 and 13 million 757 thousand and 800 respectively, representing an increase of 33.83% and 33.17% compared to the same period, and 4 million 367 thousand and 600 and 4 million 304 thousand and 100 commercial vehicles respectively, representing 28.19% and 29.90% growth respectively.

Gu Xianghua, Deputy Secretary General of the China Automobile Industry Association, said that the growth in 2010 was characterized by rapid growth, both with the promotion of policies and with the early consumption factors caused by consumers' concerns about policy withdrawal.

Statistics show that in 2010, the scale of production and marketing of large enterprise groups increased as a whole.

SAIC sales increased from 2 million 705 thousand and 500 last year to 3 million 558 thousand and 400, an increase of 31.53% over the same period last year. Dongfeng, FAW and Changan also entered 2 million camps, selling 2 million 724 thousand and 800 vehicles, 2 million 558 thousand and 200 vehicles and 2 million 378 thousand and 800 vehicles respectively, up 36.05%, 31.55% and 27.22% respectively over the same period.

In 2010, the top ten enterprises sold 15 million 596 thousand vehicles, accounting for 86% of the total vehicle sales.

In 2010, the market share of independent brand cars increased.

In 2010, 6 million 273 thousand sales of independent brands of passenger cars increased by 37.05% over the previous year, accounting for 45.60% of the total sales of passenger cars, 1.30 percentage points higher than the previous year, and 2 million 933 thousand sales of independent brand cars, an increase of 32.28% over the same period last year, accounting for 30.89% of the total sales volume of cars, representing a 1.22 percentage point increase over the previous year.

Automobile exports showed a gradual recovery in 2010.

According to the statistics of China Automobile Association's export to motor vehicle enterprises, 544 thousand and 900 cars exported in 2010, an increase of 63.94% over the same period last year.

As the international economy has not yet recovered to the financial crisis, auto exports have not yet returned to pre crisis levels.

Compared with 2008, exports dropped by 11.83% in 2010.

Gu Xianghua believes that in 2011, China's macro-economy will continue to develop rapidly, and the living standard of urban and rural residents will increase steadily. The acceleration of urbanization and industrialization will lead to a better development trend of China's auto industry. It is expected that the annual growth of 10%-15% will also be achieved.

But on the other hand, a number of incentives such as purchase tax incentives have been withdrawn from the consumer policy. The Beijing restriction policy may have an exemplary effect on other big cities. These negative factors and possible uncertainties will have a great impact on the development of China's automobile industry in 2011.

"Speeding up the adjustment of industrial structure, encouraging and developing small displacement, energy saving and environmentally-friendly cars should become the main keynote for the development of China's automobile industry."

Gu Xianghua thinks.
