Who constrained the pace of relocation?
The core competitiveness of the wholesale market lies in the low paction cost, and the paction cost is mainly reflected in pportation and rentals.
As we all know, the two advantages of Hanzheng Street have long ceased to exist. Continuous fires, heavy traffic congestion and massive private lending have made Hanzheng Street an accident prone place in Wuhan.
Compared with the "new home" north of Hankou, the surrounding market will take more than 4 hours to get in and out of Hanzheng Street, and only 2 hours to Hankou north.

Hankou North's competitive advantage as a wholesale market obviously surpasses Hanzheng Street. Why does the government repeatedly urge Hanzheng Street to move faster but not to move quickly?
In the process of docking Hanzheng Street merchants, Yan Zhi learned that most of Hankou's northern market is still in the construction stage, and the fragmentary merchants are hard to form a gathering effect. Business is actually not as good as doing in Hanzheng Street.
Yan Zhi said frankly, "but this is only temporary. It is expected that in the second half of next year, after the three major markets of clothing, shoes and hats and light textiles are built, they can undertake ten thousand Hanzheng Street merchants, and the business atmosphere will soon rise. It is estimated that the annual sales volume in 3 years will exceed Hanzheng Street, reaching 100 billion yuan."
According to Li Jun, a person familiar with the matter, Hanzheng Street's relocation has not been able to move for many years. The more important reason is that some vested interests have a great resistance to the overall relocation.
"In 80s and 90s, it usually takes only 100 thousand yuan to buy a shop, and now it is more than 10 times. It can cost about 1000000 yuan in one year.
When the rental shops are moved out of Hanzheng Street, the government's compensation to our shop owners is one-off cash or property compensation. There is always a day to spend. How can we get a steady stream of rents like this? "Li Jun bluntly said.
