Guangdong Shantou Underwear Export Batch Decline

In the first 11 months of this year, Guangdong is one of the major underwear industry bases in mainland China.

A total of 10188 batches of knitted underwear were exported, and 572 million US dollars, compared with the same period last year, the batches were reduced by 19%, and the value of goods was flat.

The products are exported to more than ten countries and regions such as North America, Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia.

The Shantou inspection and Quarantine Bureau analyzed that the decline in export batches was due to the continued RMB.

As well as the rising production costs, export enterprises increase their quotations abroad, resulting in reduced orders for foreign businesses.

According to the introduction, Shantou knitted underwear export production enterprises in 2011 are relatively stable, the number is basically flat compared with last year, the majority of private enterprises, with "OEM" production, and less own brands.

However, the performance of various export markets is different. Traditional markets in the Middle East, the United States and the European Union have become the top three export destinations of the knitted underwear industry in 2011. The amount has decreased compared with the same period last year. The expansion of new developing countries has achieved some success, and the export volume to Brazil and Russia has increased rapidly.

In view of the unfavorable factors facing knitted underwear in Shantou, the Shantou inspection and quarantine department recommends that knitting underwear enterprises develop their own brands by accelerating the pformation and upgrading of the industry, enhancing their competitiveness, developing their own brands, creating high value-added products by brands, and getting rid of the corner color that only relies on processing export to earn low processing fees. At the same time, enhance the R & D and design capabilities and create products with Shantou characteristics.
