In August 20th, the Internet Research Institute of China, the think-tank, released the "Research Report on China's cross border electricity supplier industry" 2014 (hereinafter referred to as the "report").

The rapid development of cross-border electricity providers has provided "four new" for China's manufacturing and China's foreign trade. According to the report, in 2013, the United States became the main destination country of China's export electricity supplier, accounting for 16.6% of the total electricity export share of the whole country, while the EU accounted for 15.3% and ASEAN accounted for 11%.
"Besides, the number of countries that account for the fastest growth in China's cross-border electricity supplier exports should also be taken seriously, such as Argentina, Israel, Norway, Russia and Brazil, which account for the top five growth rates."

In this regard, Lin Wenbin suggested that China's export business enterprises need to pay special attention to the risk of export trade when expanding the market of emerging economies.

Cross border retail share continues to increase
Lin Wenbin told reporters that in the first half of 2014, the growth rate of cross-border e-commerce imports and exports exceeded 30%, and China's export electricity supplier market was in the "market start-up period" and "high speed development period".
"China's export e-commerce platform has been stable after nearly 20 years of development.
Under the condition of gradually stabilizing and competing with each other, China has emerged a number of mainstream e-commerce portal websites, such as Dunhuang network, global express, Lanting Pavilion gathering potential, Dalong network and Milan net, and e-commerce enterprises specializing in cross-border e-commerce.
From the listing of Shanghai to the construction of the free trade area in Shanghai, and the construction of the national pilot cities for export electricity providers, we can infer that cross-border electricity providers will become the focus of the development of e-commerce in the future.

The report shows that B2B is still the main mode of cross-border e-commerce exports, but the proportion of cross-border retail sales of B2C is rising.
According to the ratio of B2B and B2C in the 2008~2013, the B2B accounts for 98.8% of the total electricity export market in China in 2008, while B2C retail accounts for only 1.2% of the market scale. But by 2013, the proportion of cross-border retail sales of B2C has risen to 9.6%, which has increased 8 times.
In this regard, Shen Tu Xiaoqi told reporters: "cross-border electricity supplier mode innovation is full of vitality, not only B2B and B2C, we see B2B2C (small wholesale and retail) and other new cross-border electricity business models continue to emerge."
"At the same time, it also poses new challenges to the supervision methods of government departments, but the purpose of regulation is not to restrict the development of cross-border electricity providers, but to promote their development," she stressed.
