On Tuesday, the price of cotton imports continued to fall in October 2014.

Customs data show that in October, China imported 81 thousand and 900 tons of cotton, a decrease of 41 thousand tons from last month, a decrease of 33%, a decrease of 42% compared with the same period last year, and an average import price of 1969 US dollars / ton, down 76 US dollars compared with September, or 3.7%, down 9.8% from the same period last year.

It is reported that in the first 10 months of 2014, a total of 2 million 84 thousand and 400 tons were imported, down 38.1% from the same period last year.

In the first 2 months of 2014/15, 204 thousand and 800 tons were imported, down 40.2% from the same period last year.

Jiangsu Zhangjiagang inspection and Quarantine Bureau statistics, in 1-10 months this year, the Zhangjiagang inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected imported cotton 298 thousand tons, the value of goods was $600 million, down 23.8% and 20.7%, respectively.

According to the head of the bonded area of Zhangjiagang inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the main reason for the drop in volume and price of cotton imports is the influence of domestic cotton patch policy, cotton quota restrictions on cotton imports, and domestic textile industry demand.

In October 2014, about 173 thousand tons of imported cotton yarn were reduced by 5.3% compared with the same period last year.

In 1-10 months, China exported 368 thousand tons of cotton yarn, a decrease of 13.9% compared with the same period last year.

Ningbo's textile and clothing exports increased by 10% in October compared with the previous year.

The latest data from Ningbo Customs show that in the first 10 months of this year, Ningbo achieved a total import and export volume of 535 billion 760 million yuan, an increase of 5.4% over the previous year, of which 373 billion 700 million yuan was exported, an increase of 12.4%, and the growth rate of imports and exports was higher than the national average of 2.8 and 8 percentage points respectively.

In the first 10 months of this year, Ningbo's textile and apparel exports amounted to 71 billion 210 million yuan, up 10% over the same period last year.

Among them, in October, exports of 6 billion 740 million yuan, an increase of 15.8%, has maintained two digit growth for 7 consecutive months.
