India Will Surpass China As The World'S Largest Cotton Producer.

Cotton production is concentrated in a few countries. It is estimated that 2015/16 will produce nearly 80% of the world's five largest cotton producing countries.

According to USDA United States Department of Agriculture, India and China account for more than 50% of the world's cotton output, but China's output is declining, while India is growing.

It is estimated that 2015/16 India will surpass China as the world's largest cotton producer. According to the report, the forecast output is about 29 million 500 thousand packs, pushing India to the world, accounting for 26.5% of the total output.

For China, 2015/16 production is expected to be reduced by 10% to 27 million bags, the lowest point since 2003/04, which accounts for 24% of global output and will continue to decline.

The report points out that the difference between China and India in terms of production prospects can be traced back to China's wage rise and production costs, in recent years.

And production practices have moved towards India's output significantly.

"In 2006, India surpassed the United States for the first time in 2006. Now it is preparing to surpass China, and since 1982 it has been the largest cotton producing country in the world."
