As a manager, self-confidence and courage are very important, and subordinates with this quality are usually appreciated by their superiors. But this confidence and courage must be based. If you are in a certain boast or flaunt motive and deliberately show yourself in front of your boss, that's another matter.
First of all, doing so means that you are ignorant of the tasks or challenges that will be faced. When you have a full grasp of a certain task, you can fully commit yourself to your boss, because you have every reason to believe that your promise can be realized. Sometimes you may not be able to tell immediately how confident you are about a job, but if you have a certain understanding of the work, have a general idea in your mind, and keep a clear understanding of the problems you will encounter, you may wish to express your willingness to accept this challenge to your boss. If you are uncertain about a certain task and have no knowledge of it, how can you give 100% assurance to your boss? In front of your boss. Low key, practical, try to "low commitment, high yield." Don't exaggerate in front of your boss for the time being. When deciding what kind of goals to set, it should be considered from the perspective of the boss. In order to ensure "low commitment, high yield", you have to know what the boss's opinion is, how much the bottom line of his expectations are, and how the results will surprise him. 1, how can my boss be accountable to his boss? What criteria will his boss measure his success?
2, what kind of pressure does my boss face?
3, what do my superiors expect from me and what should I do to exceed those expectations?
4, if I exceed my boss's expectations, how far will he get his attention?
5, in order to arouse my boss's attention to my work performance, what steps should I take?
In addition, sometimes your boss has set goals for you, which may be a little unrealistic. At this point, your boss should be persuaded to accept more realistic goals. If your boss does not change, then as a subordinate, you have to show him that you will try your best to achieve your goal, but do not commit yourself to what you cannot do.
Compared with those who are flashy or often empty talk, the subordinates who are down-to-earth and able to make achievements are more likely to be appreciated by their superiors. A suggestion for all managers: low key, steady and more pleasant surprises to your boss, which means surprise for yourself.
