Chris Christian Louboutin plans to open two stores in China next year, which is indeed driven by the strong growth of Chinese customers' income.

The first independent store in Beijing is scheduled to open in July 2011, and the store in Shanghai will follow in December.

In a recent Bloomberg newsletter, Louboutn said he could open five stores in China in the next three years.

This is indeed a sensible move.

China, the world's second largest luxury market, is expected to reach its peak in five years.

Credit Suisse Group also predicts that by 2015, Chinese family wealth will double on 35 trillion, and surpass Japan's second in the world.


However, the designers of French women's shoes are quite new to the Chinese retail market.

"There are still some risks for the brand, because it is not well known in China," said a senior market analyst in Shanghai.

Louboutn's current sales in China are mostly through high-end department stores, such as lotus Carver and Ann Pade.

There are only two stores directly operated by the company, all in Hongkong.


Louboutn said he wanted to win the market by improving design to cater to local consumer tastes.

"Asians do not like very high heels," he admitted.

Contrary to European and American customers who like high heel and high heels, Chinese tend to have implicit heels and round shoe tips.

Louboutn also plans to continue production in Italy, which will also enhance the quality image of the brand in the eyes of Chinese customers.
