Since 2006, the overall economic operation of Wenzhou shoe leather industry has maintained a good momentum, and the total industrial output value has reached 56 billion yuan, 60 billion yuan, 65.2 billion yuan, 70 billion yuan, and 78 billion yuan respectively. The total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size in the industry also increased from 38.3 billion yuan in 2006 to 55.841 billion yuan in 2010. In the first three quarters of 2011, there were 581 enterprises above designated size in the whole industry, and the total industrial output value was 38.028 billion yuan, up 11.1% over the same period last year. The warehousing tax of the whole industry increased from 1.6 billion yuan in 2006 to 2.046 billion yuan in 2010, ranking first among the 16 characteristic industries. In the first three quarters of 2011, the warehousing tax of the whole industry has reached 1.841 billion yuan, which can be seen from the industrial advantages of China's Shoe City.

With the support and cooperation of all member units, the 5th Council of Wenzhou Shoe and Leather Industry Association, adhering to the purpose of organization, service and coordination, has constantly strengthened its own construction, improved its service awareness, built bridges of communication, worked hard to create a good environment for the development of the shoe and leather industry, and has done a lot of fruitful work to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the industry. The Association has been rated as an advanced industry association by the municipal government for many consecutive years, and was rated as "5A" by Wenzhou Civil Affairs Bureau in 2009 Grade A social organization was rated as "Advanced Local Association" by China Leather Association, outstanding representative of "Honest Wenzhou Merchants" by the Publicity Department of Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee, and "National Advanced Social Organization" by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, becoming the only social organization in the city's administrative region to be rated. The Association was also invited to attend the "National Association Reform and Development Experience Exchange Meeting" held by the Ministry of Civil Affairs for the first time in 2010. As the only prefecture level city industry association invited to participate in the written exchange, the Association jointly advocated "social responsibility of industry associations" with 115 industry associations such as the China Federation of Industrial Economics. The work done by the Association has been highly recognized by many departments.

Zheng Xiukang reviewed the five-year work of the Association in the report of the fifth council. Finally, Zheng Xiukang was elected by a high vote to serve as the President of the Council for six consecutive terms. At the meeting, the Task of the Sixth Council and the Work Plan for 2012 were also released. Remarkably, the Association will establish an international technology research and development center for China's footwear export base. The function of the center is to systematically integrate regional design forces, link domestic and foreign design resources, carry out design research and development from raw materials to finished products, and create a collection of technology research and development, fashion design, brand planning, information consulting, exhibition, intellectual property services Education and training and other multi-functional public platforms. Provide scientific and technological project services for enterprises; Provide platform services for the docking of design, R&D and manufacturing marketization; Provide support for the coordinated development and interactive promotion of footwear design and manufacturing.
